During the European Open, every point played was turned into one euro for the Justine Henin Foundation, as part of BNP Paribas Fortis’s “Points for Change” initiative. In total, 5,685 points were played during the tournament. BNP Paribas Fortis decided to double this amount, and a cheque for €11,370 was presented to Justine.

This support will allow the Foundation to continue its mission: encouraging adapted physical activity for sick children and children with disabilities. It is not about elite sport, but about staying active: for the body, for morale, for connecting with others, and for building self confidence.
In concrete terms, the Foundation has funded a sports area at the MontLégia hospital in Liège, where hospitalised children exercise with physiotherapists and coaches, depending on their condition. It has also provided educational equipment to a girls’ school in the Charleroi region. And a new project is being prepared with the Clairs Vallons paediatric rehabilitation centre in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, set to open within the next two years. Thank you to Swings For Lives for supporting this project.
“I’ve always wanted to give a little something back.” Justine Henin, in La DH
For Justine, it is a way of giving back some of the support she received throughout her career, and of doing her part.
Thank you to BNP Paribas Fortis, the players and the European Open crowd for this wonderful gesture.
